Questions from lj user biissedandgone:

1. Do you have plans/desires for children? If so, when & how many? If not, any particular reason? I definitely want kids, and Kevin does too. Hopefully just two. We're gonna try to get away with naming them names from Dune and Ender's Game.

2. If there was one thing (material) that you could keep, what would it be? A sketchbook...or rather, more likely just a pen or pencil, just in case I don't feel like drawing or writing in said hypothetical sketchbook.

3. What do you hope to be doing in 5 years? Working on kids, and possibly out of the current position I'm in now at Best Buy, hopefully not on account of some disaster with my damn hip.

4. What is your favorite thing to cook for yourself? I've taken a really big liking to Chefmate Sandwich Maker grilled cheese sandwiches, but I dug up my Grandmom Trotta's pancake recipe and adapted it to the waffle.

5. Absolute favorite book (not comic or manga) & why? The Scarlet Letter. I'm into dramamamama and redemption like that. It just sorta grabbed ahold of me in 11th grade. If not that, Great Expectations, and if not Great Expectations, 1984, because that was the first book I actually started reading for Mr. Gallagher. ^^;

X-Posted from Court-Records.net, whom we stole it from GoNintendo

- similar visual/audio style to the first game
- takes place a year after the first title, in 1980 Los Angeles
- the main setting is the Cape West Apartments
- the story stands alone, but will also present some connections that fans of the original can enjoy
- main character is once again Kyle, and he's still a bit of a jerk
- new 'ignore' feature for when you're trying to sift through conversations, and don't think a particular portion is worth butting into to find out details and progress the story
- their is a novel inside the game called 'Last Window'
- every time you clear a game chapter, you open a new chapter in the Last Window book
- the novel will help flesh out the story, and the over-arching world that Kyle is in
- novel contents are actually influenced by how you play the game, leading to multiple variations
- rumble cart support
- 3 save slots

----

Mmm, am I the only one that thinks that 'Last Window' is this game's "Angel Opening a Door"?

~_~_~_~_~

EDIT: Found Go Nintendo's Source

I found GoNintendo's original source. Someone translated the original article. Here's what he says...

Quote:
I'm going to take a stab at the Last Window impressions, since no one else seems to have bothered translating it.

Basically the retailer staffer posting about the game gives a rundown on the new features of the sequel, while talking about various interface improvements from the first game. In general the game is very similar to the original in terms of visual and audio style, and fans of the original will feel right at home. The game takes place a year after the original, and is set in 1980 in Los Angeles. The setting of the sequel is in the Cape West Apartments. The story in the sequel stands alone from the previous games, even though there might be connections that fans of the original can pick up on. Those who have not played the original will not feel particularly lost in this game.

The main character is still Kyle, and he's still a dick. It's all good though, because fans will probably not have it any other way. There are two major additions to the sequel he mentions. One is the ignore function. In the original game, progression is pretty much always made when you butt into other people's problems in conversations, etc. In the sequel, more attention will have to be paid when you decide whether you want to butt in or to ignore something, because there is a possibility of getting a game over if you butt into everything. At least, that's what I think he's saying.

As for the other major feature, there is a novel inside the game called "Last Window" as well. It is a companion piece to the game, and a chapter unlocks each time you clear a story chapter. The novel will touch in various sub-scenarios which flesh out the events of the game outside of Kyle's immediate adventure, and involves the overall setting in the game and the other characters. Apparently the contents of the novel (which I assume is actually being 'written' as you play the game) is influenced by your choices in the game itself, so there is replay value in trying to discover all the "variations" in the novel.

He also mentions that the game supports the rumble cart, and that it has 3 save slots.

End Quote

I have to say, the Ignore function finally makes sense. It's another excuse for Dunning to Kick you out. Now, if they added that to the AA series when the main character badgers the witness...

What, no one posted it here yet?

Hotel Dust Sequel Possible for Jan 2010 (Japan)!

Check it out, yo? XD

We can (possibly) own it by 2010!

Probably can't play the Japanese version (I'd much rather see the humor in English anyways) so I'd wait for the localization.

Notes augmented

We've enhanced and de-bugged Notes. If you haven't tried it yet, now's the time! You can create a private note when you ban multiple users. You can also delete multiple notes at once. Lastly, paid users have the option to add a note (visible only to you) whenever you add or remove a friend (guaranteed to avoid embarrassing social mishaps). If you don't currently have a paid account, you can upgrade now! It only takes a few minutes and costs less than a bad shopping mall haircut (plus, it's way more fashionable)!

Product tweaks and bug kill

  1. In another effort to zap spam, comments containing links from domains LiveJournal deems untrustworthy are now automatically screened
  2. If you sign up to get notifications of the Writer's Block question of the day, you'll now see the daily question in the email notification, so you'll have a little extra time to ponder before you post. You can subscribe to Writers Block notifications here
  3. The issue causing random comments to vanish has been fixed!
  4. If you visit a LiveJournal page and get prompted to log in, you'll be returned to the same page after you sign in (Thanks, Dreamwidth)!
  5. If you don't edit the timestamp for an entry at all, the entry timestamp will indicate the time the entry was posted instead of the time the Update Journal page was loaded
  6. Comments with paddings/backgrounds render correctly within the comment box (and will no longer wrap outside the box and break frames/margins)

New FCK fixes rich text editor!

  1. We've updated our RTE (Rich Text Editor) to FCKeditor version 2.6.5
  2. When switching from the RTE to HTML editor, links for syndicated feeds are no longer broken
  3. RTE now functions properly in Safari 4.0
  4. An extra line/space will not be auto-inserted whenever you switch from RTE to HTML editor
  5. The insert image link now works correctly in all browsers

LiveJournal Cares

We’re pleased to introduce you to [info]lj_cares, a new LiveJournal community dedicated to raising awareness and funds for U.S. charitable organizations that improve the health and well-being of people around the world. Each month, we’ll spotlight a nonprofit that is making a significant global impact through medical research, public outreach, and/or humanitarian social programs. Charities will be selected in accordance with the U.S. calendar of national health observances based on a high rating (of over 60%) on Charity Navigator and global scope of impact.

In this, our inaugural month of November, we will celebrate national adoption month by offering a charitable virtual gift (priced at $2.99) to support Love Without Boundaries, an organization that saves the lives of orphans with life-threatening diseases and places them in loving homes around the world. LiveJournal will donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale of charitable vgifts (we'll cover the cost of credit card transaction fees). To learn more about Love Without Boundaries, please visit [info]lj_cares and read about how they helped save Baby Kang and the Rainbow Twins from fatal illnesses, who are now thriving in nurturing families. You can purchase your Love Without Boundaries gifts in the Virtual Gift shop.

Papered in postcards

A couple of weeks ago, we asked you to send in postcards to surround us with LiveJournal community. Thanks for coming through! We've received postcards all the way from Germany, Finland, and Canada and from all over the US, including Texas, Florida, Alaska, Montana, Wyoming, Indiana, Hawaii, and Oklahoma just to name just a handful. We're thrilled with our improved decor.

Please keep the love coming for one more week by writing to Frank the Goat, Esq., c/o LiveJournal, Inc., 539 Bryant Street, Suite 210, San Francisco, CA 94107. Be sure to include your username, since we'll be drawing the names of ten random contributors next Thursday to win paid account credits!
